Travel Philanthropy will not run its own projects but rather channel money into existing initiatives in the UK and overseas. (We believe it is better to do this, as there are already some really great causes out there). By carefully managing and facilitating your donations we believe we can actually increase your donations prior to their arrival at the local initiative.

Our directory of causes will enable you to put something back into an area that resonates with you, choose from:

• health, education and community development
• poverty alleviation or local economic development projects
• conservation of local cultural or natural heritage

We have listened to many travellers and tour operators who have pointed out how difficult it can be to find and donate securely to relevant and trusted projects overseas and within the UK. Our vision is to stimulate an epidemic of giving from global travelers, demonstrate valuable contributions to major challenges and raise awareness of responsible tourism practice. We aim to create a charity which the travel industry will feel ownership of and a commitment to.

Our macro goal is to raise significant funds via the internet from businesses and consumers for local charitable causes directly affected or created as a result of the tourism industry.

We are currently in the process of developing our partner network and securing the initial funding required to develop this vision into a functional, safe and inspiring directory.
